Assistant Professor in Geographic Information Sciences (GIS)

The Department of Geosciences at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor in Geographic Information Sciences (GIS) starting in August 2016. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in GIS, Geography or related fields at time of appointment. Areas of specialization may include, but are not limited to: spatial data mining, geospatial big data analytics, mobile mapping, cloud computing, geospatial cyber-infrastructure, social media, or related areas. The successful candidate is expected to show a strong potential for establishing a sustained, externally funded research program, teach undergraduate and graduate level GIS courses, and supervise M.S. and Ph.D. students.
